Engineers at Virginia Tech won the whooping grand prize of $1 million won (~$690 USD) at the 2008 International Capstone Design Fair in South Korea. They won with the entry of their three pole-climbing, serpentine robots designed to help construction workers inspect tall poles or beams. [via Science Daily]
